MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

THE CATHOLIC DEFENSE LEAGUE

CDL Board Meeting July 18, 2006

A regular Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Catholic Defense League (CDL) was held pursuant to Notice on July 18th, 2006 at the offices of CDL in St. Paul, Minnesota. Present at the Meeting were the following Board Members: Merlyn Scroggins, Pat Phillips, Cletus Tauer, Ed Wollerman, Marlene Reid and Dick Houck.

The Meeting was called to order at 4:00p.m. and the following business ensued:

May Minutes

The minutes from the May Board meeting were submitted and reviewed for approval and acceptance. Upon a motion duly made seconded and unanimously passed, it was, RESOLVED, that the minutes from the Regular Board Meeting in May be and the same hereby are approved and accepted..

Financial Report

The May financial report was distributed and read. Upon a motion duly made seconded and unanimously passed, it was, RESOLVED, that the May financial report be and the same hereby is accepted.

The Treasurer submitted the required annual 990 report. It was accepted and approved.

Defender

Bank Motion

  • A motion was made, seconded and approved to add Patrick Phillips name to the list of those authorized to sign checks for the Catholic Defense League.
  • Additional Officer

  • A motion was made, seconded and approved to add an additional position of Vice President to the Catholic Defense League. A motion was made, seconded and approved nominating and approving Ed Wollerman to the position of Vice President of the Catholic Defense League. Note that this additional office does not change the existing office of vice president occupied by Cletus Tauer.
  • Voter’s Guide

    There was some discussion of the Voter’s Guide which was published for the last election, 2004. The following items were discussed:

    We will seek out the one who published the 2004 edition and encourage an edition for 2006.

    We will, for this issue, clarify that CDL is not formally affiliated with the Archdiocese

    Dick Houck will pursue.

    There was some discussion of the Catholic Charisma Foundation

    Miscellaneous Discussion

    Marlene Reid commented on Salem Broadcasting

    Pat Phillips lobbied for a Five Year Plan

    Adjournment – The meeting was adjourned at about 5:30.
